WRC Knockoff Headlight Installation

After several requests from fellow members, I've decided to post a tutorial on how to install the WRC knockoffs. Because these things are so inexpensive, they include neither a harness nor instructions. So, everything has to be hardwired.

The turnsignals are simple to figure out...just tap into the turnsignal wires.

Driver side highbeam -- Black wire from the headlight goes to the stock red/blue wire. White wire from headlight goes to the stock red wire.

Driver side lowbeam -- Black wire again goes to the stock red/blue wire. Blue wire from headlight goes to stock red/yellow wire.

Passenger side highbeam -- Black wire from headlight goes to stock blue/white wire. White wire from headlight goes to stock red wire.

Passenger side lowbeam -- Black wire from headlight goes to stock blue/white wire. Blue wire from headlight goes to stock yellow/red wire.

I guess they are coming with connectors now, two of my buddies have bought these off of e-bay and both of them have connectors.

Yeah they come with connectors but the wires aren't correct, you have to swap them around.

I was not provided with connectors because they supposedly cause a short...or at least that's the reason the vendor who sold it to me gave me.

Maybe because the wires are all messed up they were causing a short

Sorry to kinda ressurect this but...

When you say it needs to be hardwired...how exactly do you connect the headlight's wires with the wires from the car? I'm sorta confused on this.

Go to a hardware store and get some wire taps. You'll tap the new wires to your stock ones

Does that make sense?

OK, I'm not installing these on my car, but I will be installing these on a RS2.5 for somebody. The person in question being a female, wants a guy to do the work, or as she placed it, 'needs a mans help.' Anyway, here I come to save the day... Hmm... OK, skip the Mighty Mouse thing.

Anyway, she has the lights, and obviously they need to be spliced, etc etc.

My question is, what exactly does she need, so I can just go over there with my tools and install these for her.

According to Scoobymods.com...
12 gauge wire, some wire connectors, and 30 amp relays
All sound like things one could probably find at radio shack, pepboys, or home depot.

WRXin, from your description, it almost sounds like you sat outside with a swiss army knife, and some electric tape.

Anyway, some quick info on this would be appreciated.
