    Question Clear Blinker Lenses

I have ordered clear blinker lenses and they are due in today. How easy is this install. I havn't tried to pull off my orange blinkers yet.

    Do they pry off?

Will I have to splice some wires when I get my new lenses?

Will I have to purchase an adhesive to reattach the new lenses?

Anyone who's done this and can let me know how long it will take and how easy it is, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks

I used a thin blockbuster card (that's thinner than creditcard).
Placed it under the orange marker and lift up. Once the bottom latch is free, then pull outward (there;s a colapsing clasp on top).
    Then unsrew the bulb mount.

Install is just the reverse. The top clasp snaps on so don't be afraid of the noise. Also, be careful around your fender. It only takes a mild shove or lean to dent.

Clear markers can be pretty cheap, btw. The lens cover actually fell off...I had to glue mine back on.

The car looks sooo much better though.

Here is a great tutorial for installing the clear sidemarkers:

I don't know if this is what you wanted to do with them but here is another good link:

    Hope that helps!

BTW, something you may run into, depending on where you got the blinkers is that they don't fit flush to the fender. To remedy, place electrical tape on the back side of the clear blinker until it fits flush. You can't see the tape once the blinker is on.

You're welcome- and you really don't have to splice wires- use the stock bulbs- they should fit, just not as well as the aftermarket ones.

    Spliced

Yeah, I spliced the wires... i thought the oem bulbs glowed white. My relacement bulbs are orange. I though I should use them... to maintain at least one legal part on my car. I never checked if i could have just replaced the old bulbs w/ the new... i'm pretty sure the covers I bought required splicing. Anyway, here's a pic of the new lenses,

how about the snow in Virginia Beach! Who knew.

No one will bother you about the white bulbs. They're only marker lights- not signals- depending on your local laws, you should be OK with white if you decide to do that instead.

If I may ask, where did you find them? I've searched and I've only been able to find carbon fiber inserts. Someone send a link please?
