I wanna do that, but I'm worried that when I'm piecing it back together, I won't make the seal good and water will leak in.

i'm in the process of heating up the backing and getting the pieces back together and super excited to put them back on the car. As for the amber part of the mod, instead of the pvc i just taped up basically the round top of the amber cover and sprayed the base of it black up to where it starts to round over. This came out better than i thought and i'm going to take pictures as soon as it's all together.

that's what i did, when I modded mine, about 2 yrs ago. I liked it better than removing it, IMO.

awesome write up. its 12:10 am, and after eight hours my lights are painted and reinstalled. i didn't do the "koji mod" however, but i am really happy with the end result.

on a similar topic, i had a bad headlight haze, i tried some blue magic headlapm restorer, which helped initially with some yellowing i had, then went the long route (while the headlights were apart) and wetsanded and used the meguiars plast-x. still unhappy with the results (and not sure what to do...) as a last resort i found some goo gone in my garage, and what do you know? all my haziness is now gone!
