    Emblems & Badges

    Hello!

Serious question, so please don't laugh!

I want to paint (not plastidip) my Subaru Emblems on the front, back, and steering wheel red (just the stars, the rest will remain blue) and my "WRX" badges on the front, back, and sides red (whole thing, like the STI badges) in a few weeks or so. Should be fun. I do have three quick questions though about this mini-project of mine...

1 - Do I have to remove the Subaru emblems (or the clear case that covers it) or "WRX" badges?
2 - Will the paint eventually fade, even if I use good paint and do it correctly?
3 - Any tips or advice on how to do it so they are all the same level of color and coating and looking professional?

Thank you all ahead of time!

It's going to be incredibly hard to paint just the stars without removing the background too

Here's a write up so you can see the process

just buy several overlays would be easier in the long run. Where did you get yours from. Mine still look good.

I was thinking of using red metalcast to tint my front wrx grill emblem so will will still be reflective

got them for free from a buddy...

they look great but the problem is whenever it rains or it is extremely bright and sunny outside you can see the slight fade... it's no biggy... I think it looks great but I would rather have it painted it (either myself or professionally) or even buy a new "Subaru" emblem but with a custom design...

Hmm, I've only had mine a couple weeks, I sure hope they don't fade. Cheap to replace I guess, if they do, but we'll see I suppose.

I got the carbon fiber look ones, the carbon fiber is textured plastic of some kind, not just a flat paper with color, so I'm hoping it resists fade.

srt4evah: it's not like it is noticeable unless you look REALLY close but it only comes up after the rain or has been out in the bright sun for a while... it still looks great... but I thought maybe I applied it wrong or forgot to add a protective surface to it...

But you got the white and black kind? Not the 3D CF+red stars? That's the set I got.

Noooooooooooooo you're totally fine, trust me!

    Thank you so much!

I'm just being a picky **** about it haha

It's not like it is super noticeable or a big deal, I just hope in a year or two it will not completely fade, but then I'll just buy new ones since that would be easier!
