I thought I would start a thread for the mods I've done so far to my base 2015 WRX. The car is currently sitting at 975 miles so woohoo oil change and I can finally drive her like she's meant to be! Its a base model with the STI exhaust and harmon/kardon speaker upgrade which I'm happy with for now. I recently got the car tinted with 20% all around, put 35% smoke tint on the tail lights, debadged the rear and added JDMvinyl front and rear carbon fiber with gray emblem overlays. Also just ordered carbon fiber side badges from customcarbon to replace the chrome factory badges. Planning on getting some mud flaps soon and in the spring will be installing my summer wheels which currently I don't know what I'm going to go with. Will most likely stay factory size (17x8) so I can utilize the tires that came with the car. Installed Michelin x-ice xi3 winter tires on the factory wheels and so far I'm super satisfied with the performance. Down the road I'm also going to look into upgrading the exterior lighting and possibly installing the JDM grill cause it looks pretty sick!
Car is dirty in the pics I know.... Its winter here and I'm impatient and wanted to put them up now haha
Congrats on the car. Once you hit the 1k it really gets a lot more fun.
Maybe a moderator can move this to the build thread section.
What upgrades to exterior lighting are you looking to do?
Looking into it now haven't really decided. I really like the look of the `15 premium and STI headlights so I might see if I can get a set for cheap. If not I'll have to take a part the stock ones and paint them. Its winter now and my access to a warm indoor space is limited so is time... I've never done headlight before so I'm going to have to see whats out there. After the holidays I'm going to look into the selection of stuff subispeed has as far as plug and play for the turns, c light and tails...
Headlights aren't that bad someone on NASIOC has a guide on how to bake them. Its sounds a lot scarier then it is but its really not bad. If you do bake them then maybe you can also do an HID retrofit while its open.
I saw a mod video on youtube and the guy said that `15 headlights don't need to be baked. Apparently they use some kind of sticky rubber to hold them together. An HID retro fit is probably the cheapest route but I don't know if I trust my electrical skills.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
