Front Bumper re-install, clips under headlight not seating right

So I put my hella horns in this weekend. All went well, but the bumper is not snapping back in properly under the headlight (where the turn is signal bulb is.)

I know many of you guys have pulled your bumpers off by now, what's the trick to getting this right? And where can we buy more of the plastic snaps that hold everything in? I lost one in the fender well.

They have assorted snaps at home depot/Lowes in the screw/fitting aisle. I always go there for various snaps, plugs, buttons. Exactly like OE ones.

But I put the horns on my buddies '13 and all we had to do was remove the grill, there was no need to take off the bumper. Unless of course you place the horns someplace else like behind the bumper.

    Just from my experience tho.

I did some reading on it and it seems like a common problem. Once you pull the bumper off, the clips are so close to the fender they don't allow enough room to make the bumper slide over the clip under the headlight. Look at this pic and you can see it. http://i48.tinypic.com/24lvbdg.jpg

I haven't been able to find the clips at Home Depot, but yes, Lowe's has an automotive hardware sections that carries all sizes of plastic rivets. NAPA/most other small automotive shops also carry them. I always get mine at NAPA.

You can always get the clips at the dealers parts dept. I have even seen them on Amazon. Its not easy to get the bumper back in place once you take it off. It never fits as it was from factory. I just pushed it back into place under the headlight. Just don't give it too much force or you can break something.

I backed out of a steep narrow driveway yesterday and the drivers side front bumper slammed into the ground, broke off the wheel well fasteners and now I can't get the damn thing flush near the headlight. WTH, I can get the fasteners no problem but what's this about the bumper not fitting right ever again?

Depends on how you stretched it off.
Exaggerated a bit above, just cursed a little.
My comes off and goes back on with just a bit of force. You may have jacked up your sliders.

I had the same problem with mine but just lived with it. I was maybe thinking going the bumper faster route though may look ricy

You can see where it won't snap on at the top to become flush, and as you back away I don't think you can really notice it. I can see the clip, but I can't push it up far enough to snap on. I'll break something if I apply any more force. Looks like if I remove the battery, I might be able to get some leverage from inside. Don't know if it's worth it.

Is the tab or catch maybe broken? Odd that that's the only spot it won't click.

The tab and the catch are both intact. I just can't clear the metal border, I'd have to push on it from the inside or something.

Mine doesn't stay very flush anymore and I'm wondering if I should pay someone to do it. That upper tab right at the headlight if crucial to keeping the part secured.

Maybe the dealer has a trick to getting this back on or should I just go to a body shop? If I go over any bump, I have to reattach the other tabs or it's quick obvious it barely hanging on....
