    Front Lip Damage.

Well, looks like I have something to do this weekend.

Driving home last night, I suddenly heard a scraping sound. I pulled over and found that my front lip had fallen off and was dragging on the road. I didn't have a screwdriver to re-attach it then and there, so had to completely remove it.

I think it wasn't helped by the front being so low. It sits about 120mm (4.75") off the ground, and the road outside my house is undergoing repairs, so there is a lot of piles of loose gravel on the bumpy road. I guess the front lip must have taken a bit of a beating acting as a bulldozer over the past week and finally gave up.

One of the perils of owning a car with a low front on New Zealand roads.

Oh well, at least it gives me an excuse to work on the car. :-)

What shock/springs do you have on there? I like the height... factory looks horrible on those 04-05 models....

How does it ride? I dont want a brick going down the road...

I don't know what sort of springs they are. Standard shocks though. It rides pretty well, doesn't crash and bang over bumps.

It's pretty compliant over bumps, mid-corner ones don't upset it at all. It only rubs when I hit big dips.

    They are factory fog lights.

Someone backed into me in a carpark (hence the scrape on the bumper :-P) and popped the surround out. I didn't notice until I got home.

The best replacement I could find was silver, so I got a mate who's a painter to paint them both black. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, it breaks up the front a bit and goes with the grill and lip.
