The basic Subaru cross bars at $200. Should be able to get a deal if you get them where you bought your car. Or if you buy them used. Attachments, don't know, depends on brand, complexity and new/used.

Don't have snowboard attachment but I have a Thule surfboard attachment. Thule gear is expensive but I feel worth the price. I love that I can lock my surfboards on the rack.

They make attachements specifically for the snowboard/skis. You would not want to put it in a surfboard rack. Thule is good I agree.

You can get the OEM crossbars used for around 100, I bought mine brand new for $150 shipped....just have to search around.

No, snowboards are essentially flat and quite thin. Surfboards are significant shape and thickness. Get the attachment that is for your gear.

So the Thule stuff is universal to any rack? I don't wanna buy something and have it not fit

Bones, ffs, get onto a Thule.com or Yakima or even REI and do some research.

That said, if you buy Thule products that "fit most car manufacturer OE crossmembers" it will probably fit.

Can browse car related forums at work but not car-related product websites?
