    sti spoiler trunk?

(Subie newbie) Ok so after all I am getting me a sedan, clean little wrx, 2002 by the way, it comes with the wrx spoiler but I much more prefer the sti spoiler, my questions are: why do people change out the trunk too, why not just the spoiler? Ive seen the spoiler sold separately so I know it's not all one piece, is the trunk different for the sti models vs the wrx models? Thanks.

People swap the whole trunk BC if you don't, you'll have to fill in the holes from your wrx wing and drill new holes for the sti wing.

But if you install the sti wing without the whole trunk will the wrx holes show or will the wing cover it?

I'm honestly not sure. Even if it does cover it you probably still run the risk of water leaking in and whatnot since it's not a tight seal

There's a rubber seal that goes under the STi spoiler, But I don't think it's water proof, probably just a paint protector kind of thing. The holes are completely different, so you'd have to drill some 10-14 or so holes in your WRX trunk to mount the STi spoiler and then fill the old wrx holes.

The STi spoiler is much heavier and I think they may actually come with some torsion bars or something that will help lift it up (just a guess, not verified).

Just go with a trunk swap. So much cheaper that way.
