Question Gen3 how to drill Tow hook cover for front license plate relocate kit?

I have a 2013 WRX Limited (with fog lights) and unfortunately live in a state that requires a front plate. I am highly considering a grimmspeed relocate kit however I do NOT like the size of the gen 3 tow hook cover. I have seen modification to the tow hook cover and have attached sample pics to elaborate what I am trying to reproduce.

    What I want to do:

    • Remove tow hook cover
    • Tape off area to be drilled
    • Mark center of hole
    • Drill out area slightly (1/4" larger) than the grimmspeed mounting post.
    • Re-install Towhook cover
    • Install relocate kit

I have searched the forum and online (maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing?) looking for a DIY with detailed information and/or a template illustrating the Center mark for this hole.

As always any help is GREATLY appreciated!

I have the grimmspeed relocation kit and I just installed it without the cover.

If you are planning to get the kit away why not just install the license plate bracket and measure then you can transfer those measurements to your tow hook cover.

What does the size of the cover matter? The plate is going to be covering it up anyway, isn't it?

While I completely get the look you want, and reason you want it, but the license plate will be blocking the complete view of it anyway. I wouldn't worry about it man, as no one will see the missing tow hook cover.

Thanks everyone I got the relocate and front plate delete and put it on, I now understand what everyone was talking about. What does everyone think of the fitment/placement?
