Door chip on brand new WRX

Hey all, just picked up my 2013 CBS WRX Sedan today from the dealership this morning. I love everything about this car but I noticed this one flaw on the driver's side door trim, the wrapping/paint is chipped. I called my salesman and he kind of rushed me off the phone (I guess he was in the middle of the sale) and he said that they would take a look at it when I get the plates in two weeks or so. Should I call the service manager or give them a visit or just wait? Not sure how they would fix this without putting a whole new plastic trim on the edges. It's not extremely noticeable but I will pretty much look at it everytime I enter my car and the fact that the car is "new," it kind of annoys me.

+1, if you picked it up that way, they should fix it. I'd take it in tomorrow and show them so at least the damage is known about and can't be pushed back on you.

That is a HUGE gouge. I'd be extremely unhappy if I saw that on the lot as I was giving it a once over. I would make them fix it immediately. You just shell out how much money for a car? Unacceptable. They should make this right. No need to pester though, make sure they know you still are on it. Call them next week and the week you intend to bring it in to pick up the plates. Don't let it fall through the cracks.

Thanks guys. Yeah it was hard to notice it when the driver's side door was closed so I didn't see it before I drove away from the dealership. Once I did notice it though I called the salesman right away and made him aware, I also e-mailed the service department with some pictures. I'm most likely going to drive there on Friday and show them in person, like you said I don't want to let it fall through the cracks.

Don't wait to take it in! You need to make time and take it in asap! The longer u leave it, the more time the dealership might come up with an excuse! And please when u drop your car off to them to fix "REQUEST A FULL INSPECTION WALK- AROUND" before you hand over the keys. That will save you much headache if anything does arise. And have it written on paper and get a copy for yourself. I've dealt with numerous dealership bad experiences. You learn and you grow. Good luck with your issue
