    Vinyl roof Central Pa

Anyone know of any places in central Pa that do vinyl roofs? I'm looking to do my roof in gloss black with 3m gloss black vinyl. I believe that is what everyone is using to do their roof. I can do a google search on places that do it, I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with any shop.

should be able to remove it, and I don't plan on getting rid of the car for awhile. its 11 with only 18k miles. Going Stage 2 next week. But bump to the top for anyone who has had this done.

Hey, cool, I'm originally from Hershey. The only company I've heard of that does this is JDMFanatic Vinyls, but they're based out of CA. Dip it?

Grab a buddy and do it yourself. It's not that difficult as long as you prep correctly and not rush it. If you feel that you have to have a shop do it I would assume any reputable tint shop around you can install the vinyl.

From what I've seen, it should last about 12-14 months before you see visible wear from the elements. If you have covered parking like a garage or something, you should be able to squeeze more life out of it since it won't be sitting over night through mother nature. The higher quality vinyl you purchase like from 3M or Oracle the better.

As far as removing it, apply heat to the surface to temporarily break the bond the vinyl has from the roof surface. Once you have an edge and start pulling, have a friend to apply gradual heat along the area that it's peeling away from to make the job easier. Clean up is determined by the brand of vinyl. The cheaper vinyl has crappy adhesive that can leave residue. Spend the extra small amount to by a good brand to avoid those headaches.

FYI - Matte white/light colors stain very easy. I would say within a few months you'll start seeing marks, etc. that are a pain to remove. You said you wanted the gloss black on your roof so that shouldn't be an issue. If a bird craps on it or if you parked under a tree and sap fell on it, I would remove it as soon as you can or else it'll stain the vinyl.

The vinyl itself should last you a couple of years as long as the vinyl was installed correctly. Mainly the edges. If your edges are bad or not tucked correctly you'll start getting a peel and that compromises the entire vinyl. Prepping the car and giving a good wash is essential before applying the vinyl but do not wax the area the vinyl being applied to.

Thanks for the reply! I was hoping it would look good for more than a year but then again that is a long time especially with Pa weather.

Oh ... that kind of vinyl. I thought you meant what's below. I'm old enough to remember Jimmy Carter.
