best thing to do is buy a spare trunk thats already wingless.
there's like a bajillion holes drilled for the sti spoiler so if you were to take it off and plug all of them every time you feel like changing it, it would be a PITA.

Hey fellas, how's it going. Know it's been awhile since I've spoken, but I just lurk around, not much of a talker. The rex is running super strong and I'm keeping it stock for awhile.
I'm wondering if there is any way to go wingless? I want to keep my trunk and wing for later use, so I can throw it back on when the mood strikes. So trading isn't ideal. So I was hoping there would be some sort of rubber like seals I could place in the holes of the wing mount in the trunk. Thanks for checking this out, appreciate any feedback or opinions.

Yeah you're probably right. I just wasn't wanting to spend 600 bucks on a trunk right now.

You could trade your wingged trunk a 02-07 wingless trunk...
I could... But I still love the winged look. I just want to try actually being able to see out the back window for once. If I try something, I'll let yall know. And keep the ideas rolling if you got any. I just broke 18k miles, been smooth sailing since I bought her so far.

Oh sorry my bad. Should have read your first post in it's entirety.
Isn't no thang. I may try taking it off and using black rubber grommets, I'm not sure though. I'd have to make sure it doesn't leak. Another advantage is my car being less of a cop magnet.

For the time being, you could just remove the wing and cover the holes with electrical tape of approximate color. That way you can see what that would be like before you go to any effort of making it complete...
Then you could stick some flat material under the holes, bondo and spot-paint. That could be removed later to re-install the wing.
You can't have everything - where would you put it?
