STI Exterior Mirrors on WRX

Hey all,

I have a 2012 WRX and would prefer the mirrors on the STI with the signals. Have not taken apart to check what is compatible, but thought i would ask here:

- i assume its the same harness and should clip in
- would need the exterior plastic cover
- do i need the entire mirror assembly?

I would probably source the parts through SubaruPartsWarehouse and figured since someone backed into my passenger side fender while parked on the street in Brooklyn where I live, I would get the mirror plastics painted too if this conversion is cheap and simple.

For those wondering about the fender, i refuse to put bondo on anything new and bought a new fender for respray. Yes, serious OCD issues.

Good article you dug up and gives everything i was looking for. Now to see if i can score a pair cheap. Don't really want to start wiring up stuff if i don't have to

Do you happen to have a "limited" WRX? If you do it will be an easier upgrade since they are wired for it.

nope have the premium. so no chance of this being easy? dont want to mutilate the harness, etc with it being so "new"

I thought some premiums and limiteds are pre-wired? or all? I read it's a real PITA if you have the base model WRX

I would've thought the same. makes more sense from a cost perspective to make the harness the same for the same car / different models

Lol, yeah, eventually I'll update it, gotta get some good pics first. And that'll be after I get some lift in there, since I prefer the desert pics. Could always go to my downed chopper spot and do some pics though.
