Nightshade looks rough... I think the tint route seems better. I found this thread.

This is a discussion on Nightshade on tails within the Exterior & Appearance forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; I was thinking about doing this, but it seems so permanent... Has anyone with a black car done this?...

I have red overlays on my taillights (sedan though). Easy to take off if you need to and cheap.
I like those overlays better. Where did you get them?

Niteshades comes off with certain solvents pretty easily. Niteshades is "harder" to do because you have to actually paint then lenses correctly (i.e. using clear coats, sanding, etc, etc). If done correctly, I think Niteshades comes out BETTER than overlays since there is basically no discernible "lip" on the light. No doubt, however, that overlays come off easier, but going on is a different story. I've seen numerous people tear the lens covers when not done right, so painting might be the easier option.
