HIDs question on a base model WRX

I have a '13 WRX base model 4 door on the way. I am looking to add some HID's to it, but when I asked the dealer if they could add HID's he told me they are only available on the limited model? I want the stock HID look, why would they only be available on the limited model? Anyone have any ideas?

You can get HID's from the dealer but you have to buy the whole light which i believe i was told about 1400 from the dealer.

if you want more light w/o the hassles of a retrofit, throw some H9 bulbs in there and call it a day.

H11 to H9 conversion. DIY with temps - NASIOC

stock H11 low beam = 1345 lumens

They probably said it's only with the limited model because they simply don't care. Try talking to a service advisor. You will have to buy the whole thing still, or simply go with aftermarket hid. Save a lot of money

Other companies such as Lightwerkz offer installation for an extra fee. I recommend retrofitting so it doesn't look cheap. It'll have a clean cutoff line, won't blind oncoming traffic, etc. etc.

I think I blind oncoming traffic...when they're going downhill and I'm going up though...
But I have carhidkit.com 8000k 55W ballasts. I only paid roughly 140

So there's options out there

A retrofit involves not just a new bulb & ballast,but a new projector. If you are handy you can do the conversion yourself, but it is somewhat complicated.

Companies like lightwerkz will do it for you. But you will have to ship them your headlights.

I really wish it wasn't so hard to retrofit them in. I have been contemplating on getting a retrofit kit for a while. I just don't want to tear the housing open.
