i have an 07 wrx that im planning on putting hids in and searched all over trying to find out how do disable them. saw a few methods such as unplug silver resistor under the hood. heard many people used this but they dont tell you it disables your security also. its worth having because it wont allow someone to start the engine while alarm is activated. not to mention all the random on and off lights afterwords people have mentioned. another one i heard was to find a connector and use a pin out tool but details are very rare. also the unplug under the passenger side dash dosnt exist on the 07s.

this is how i disabled mine took me 15 minutes.

first step is to open up the center console. unscrew your shifter knob and place it to the side. pop off the trim around the shifter. remove two lower screws. NOT the two for the a/c and radio. open center console and take out two screws there. under e break there is a button that you can snap appart. after that pop off the plastic that has cup holder and heated seats. unplug heated seats and set it to the side. when you down you should see a single wire connected to the e break bracket. i used a male connector end and an 8 inch section of 14 guage wire and a round terminal crimp connector. =----------0 looks like that. plug the male end of your wire into the female. there is a 12 mm nut holding down the e break bracket. loosen that and put your terminal end under that and tighten the bolt back up. that is completing the ground so the car thinks the e break is on therefore not turing the drls on. the only problem is your going to have the break light on on the dash. i just took my bulb out. to remove the bulb undo two screw on the trim of your guage cluster and pop it out. sneak it out on the right side of steering wheel. next take out the three screws holding in the gauges. the guage cluster has two wiring harnasses on it you dont need to unplug them just flip up the guages and pull the bulb out. replace the socket back into the cluster to prevent dust from getting in. put your stuff back together and your good to go.

hope this helps anyone with an 07 that likes their lights off during the day.

it does work I did that. it's the silver resistor pack but that's te one that disables security system also. plugged mine back in. I tried all the fixes I read up on not a fan of them.
