Yeah 12", it looks like we both used the same brand even... The package says 24" because there's two of them.

Just wanted to chime in here and fill everybody in - the lights *DO NOT* blink at all when using the green wire. They only come on with the parking lights. I repeat: there is no blinking from the LEDs in my side vents.

But when I got to thinking about it, that absolutely makes sense... How would only two conductors do all of this? The turn signal bulbs are dual-stage, aren't they? That's why there's 3 wires going to them: black is ground so you have to use one of the others - green for turning on with headlights or red for blinking with turn signals.

    Am I wrong here?

hmm can you put 2 sets? One set for driving leds (white or blue)
and then one set for the blinkers?

I don't see why not - I think that LEDs have so little resistance on the circuit that it shouldn't be a big deal. I kinda like this idea - maybe I'll do that later

    mm i found it, thanks
Is it illegal in CA to have side emitting lights that are blue or white?
I imagine the amber ones are perfectly legal but I'm not sure if white/blue driving lights would be a good idea.

I dunno. I can tell you that red needs to be only visible from a rear angle (that's what she said), but I agree that white or blue would probably not be a wise thing to do. Get amber and hook them up to the red wire = turn signals = more visibility = how could a cop fault you for putting side marker turn signals on your car to increase visibility?

    I'll add to the pool

I followed it exactly except I added a second Amber strip to both sides that is tapped to my fog lights. I also added a piece of opaque plastic directly behind the vents to diffuse the light. This way the light shines through as one solid color and brightness. We'll see how it weathers.
