    Yep some cars (Earlier Acuras and WRX STi's) are reflector based HID's, but the reflector was specifically made to focus the HID beam properly. If a person was to do the reverse and replace the HID's system with with halogen bulb then the beam pattern will incorrect for that specific reflector.

    Exactly. It is weird to see those Acuras with the reflector HIDs. I know the 2002 TL had them:


    My boss has one, but I've never ridden in it. I've always wondered what the cut off looked like.
