Red lettering on WRX / STI engraving on side panel

I'm wondering how could I give color to the metallic plastic trim part of the car where it has an engraving of WRX or STI?

it shows STI in RED and that's pretty much what I wanna do too. Originally, it is the same color as the plastic - metallic grey.

Is there some sort of sticker or did they paint that? seems a little difficult to paint

If you were to go into a hobby store or something along those lines and get really fine paint brushes you will be able to do it yourself.

I have been contemplating doing this too.

The STI is red, the WRX is silver. I painted mine body color with red lettering, I didn't do a great job on the red but it looks good from 5 feet. When I get home I'll post a pic. I'm now thinking, because I removed all badges already, I'm going to fill in the WRX altogether and paint it body color.

Good idea,never thought of that.A fine brush should do the job.It should be easier if you can get the badge off.Will try it this weekend.

Comes off very easily, I think there are 6 push clips holding it and you have to pop the front side of the sideskirt off too, 2 more push clips

Got the side panel off.Working on masking off the lettering right now.I'm using a fine brush and red caliper paint.

Painted it DGM, just got the code and went to a local auto paint store

Painted it red.Open the door to get the panel off.It will be easier if you can loosen the part of the rocker covering the panel.Wasn't at all difficult.Should have used a primer but I didn't have any.I applied 2 coats of red caliper paint and finished off with Rustoleum crystal clear enamel for a glossy finish.
