&%*# Thief dented my car

Wonderful, my brand spankin new STi (2100 miles) has a dent and chipped paint thanks to a would-be thief.

So, last night I went out with a couple of friends. We were in an area that has a ton of bars around so of course a lot of drunks were around. I had parked in an area far away from the complex because it was packed when we got there, but when we were leaving, my STi was alone with another car in the area I parked.

When we were walking back to my car I noticed some guy messing with the other car's door. I was watching him for about 50 yards and once we got about 20ft away I could tell it wasn't his keys he was jamming into the other cars door. I always said if I ever saw somebody f*&%en with anyone elses car I would do something, because I've been robbed before in crowded parking lot and nobody saw anything. I was with two other guys and this guy was alone and not that big at all.

So I say "Hey, you need some help or something!" Thinking if he was a thief this guy would bail, but no, I happen to get the one drunken thief who tries to play it off. He slides whatever he was jamming in the door into his pocket.

He says "No, I'm ok its coo" , I'm like "It looks like your having trouble with your door"

Him "No I'm fine my friends left me here and I'm just trying to get home"

Me "Why don't you go call a cab, you don't need to be driving anywhere"

Him "NO No, I'll be fine"

Me "Why don't you let me see the keys, I'll get your door open?"

Him "I don't have the keys"

My buddy "Then why don't you leave that car alone"

Him "I'm just trying to get a ride......"

He starts to walk away so I feel my good deed is accomplished by saving the other cars from being broken into and we hop in my car to leave. Next thing I know the dude is standing behind my car as I'm backing up.

Him "GIVE ME A RIDE!!!"

Me "No way, get out of my way" I start to pull away He starts to run at me and starts to kick at my car, I say "whoa calm down!" and for some reason the drunken would-be thief stops his kick before he hits my car.

He comes up to my drivers side window and half sticks his head in, "DUDE I JUST NEED A RIDE"
Now I can't get out, my passengers are wanting to get out and kick this guys a** so i'm calming them down and this guy down because I think he's gonna dent up my car before we have a chance to get out.

Besides that, I can't see both of his hands, and have been around enough to see people get their noses busted if I give this guy a chance to. He wouldn't back off, after many pleas to get away from my car I said "This is the last time I'm telling you, back away from my car." I put my car in reverse.

Him "STFU give me a ride!" So I jack this dude in the face and he backs off my car. I back up, and guess what, I KILLED THE (*&$@(*& CAR. The 1st time I kill it is NOW!!!!

So now he has a chance to get up and comes running at my car, but his drunk ass falls over and puches my windshield on the way down?!?! I guess he was too drunk to pick a better spot. Then he just got up and ran, well because my other passengers started to get out. So I'm thinking ok that could have been alot worse, but no harm done his dumbass just probably busted his hand on my windshield. We leave.

Once we got home we were all laughing about it until my passenger saw my fender in the light, the dude musta ran into my fender when he punched my windshield - which is probably why he fell. Its got a dent about the size of a softball and some of the paint popped off, its not scratched, the paint is just missing on a dime size area on the softball. People sure were right, these fenders and paint is weak, I can pop the dent out but am gonna loose about $500 on getting my fender re-painted.

So much for helping a stranger......

The way I thought things went was pretty funny. Dude gets in my face, won't back off my car, gets punched in the face, stumbles back, comes running at my car, falls down, breaks hand on windshield, takes off running. It wasn't until later I realized my car did get damaged when he fell into it.

The whole thing I was trying to avoid was getting my car injured. He never threatend me directly, just threatend my car with the kicking motion. I knew if we completly went at it, we both would have probably went to jail and my car would be more damaged than it is. If I would have known he dented my car before I left I would have definatly run his ass down. If he tried this bs while I was standing up outside my car it definatly would have gone different, he waited till I was buckled in and starting to leave before things went south.

Why the hell didn't you call the cops?? This dude was obviously f'd up and he probably ran about a block before trying to jack some other car, and with the pent up embarrassment and frustration he could have done some damage!

But nonetheless, nice kill
