Wanted a WRX since I first saw a bug-eye back in the UK in 2003 or so.

Moved to the US and drove:

til 2004: '90 Miata (1.6 B package I think)
til 2012: '05 SRT-4
til 2013: '12 GTI 4 Dr DSG

Just traded the GTI on a base WRX and loving it, though the WRX interior, seats, stereo, doors, diffuser etc., all pretty much suck compared to the GTI, none of that actually matters. I think I can see this car being with me for the long-haul, like my SRT-4.

Currently have: 2012 WRX hatchback

Had:
1997 Dodge Ram 5.9L, never could kill that thing, cash for clunkers did.
2001 Nissan Pathfinder 3.5L 5spd Manual, great times mudding.
2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT 3.8 6spd. I hated it. I'm 6'5" so I didn't fit well and it's "wrong wheel drive".
Land vehicle Vehicle Car Sports car Mitsubishi

I'm looking to pick up a late 80's RX7 for a cheap track car. Easy LS1 V8 swap!

Don't know if some of them really bare mentioning but, here goes....

'90 Nissan Sentra 2dr - 4spd manual with one factory option...a two speaker AM/FM radio/cassette deck.

'66 Ford Galaxie 500 2dr complete with a 390, C4, and single exhaust. It was a factory A/C car, and it had all the parts......In the trunk. It was my first project. Pic...

After I decided that I was no longer in a position to do to that car what it really needed, I bought a '96 Pontiac GP SE with the B4U wide body package. It looked nice with it's nice white paint with wheels to match, but it was nothing more than a shiny **** with two chairs....god was that a mistake.

My next one deserves honorable mention. '98 Ranger 4cyl, 5spd, slow as ****ing balls. I swear it got the same fuel econ even if I drove it with my foot to the floor (you had to if you wanted to move). I bought that truck (if you can really call it a truck) with just about 35,000 miles on it, and when I finally got rid of it the clock was just about done ticking at 180,000. I beat the ever loving piss out of that poor thing, but it took it all in stride like a good bitch, which is why it gets honorable mention.

'02 Ram - nothing special, Reg. cab, short bed, 2WD, 4.7L.

'07 Cobalt SS/SC. Now this one is the one I really miss, and I'm not sure why. It could be because I never got to 30,000 miles, which is when every single GM front drive platform that I've ever driven seems to develop that god awful annoying front end clunk/rattle, and you can never get rid of it. It was a fun little ****box. GM Stage 2, with an Injen CAI, and a Magnaflow exhaust that I spent probably way too much money on. It put down 235whp, and 208ftlbs on a Mustang dyno, which Ididn't think was all that bad for a girl's car. Pic...

'04 STi, my current car, and most loved.....I have plans for this one, which I can never seem to get to. Oh well, life happens I guess.

I've had a '98 Ranger, 5-speed 4-banger for my beater since 2005. :rotfl:
It's a love/hate relationship...it cost me nothing (my dad died, and my mother wanted to keep a truck in the family), but has proven to be a much lesser vehicle than the Toyota truck that I had, years before. I do get 27-28mpg out of it, and as you said, it's crazy slow. I pull out in front of no one when I'm in it.

I was gonna say...Ray has a tank of a Ranger...is that hole in the block still holding up with the JB Weld? :rotfl:

1990 Jeep Cherokee, rode'er up to 240k miles, sold her in a trailer park for $600 on my way to Vegas.

1992 Jeep Cherokee, 190k, traded it in with my...

2002 Yamaha R6 (I feel like my car has the same spirit BTW)

2002 Chevy Silverado Z-71

2011 SWP 2.5i,

1st one just straight sucked by the time I ditched it on the way to LV. 2nd and 3rd were traded in on the 4th as part of a court deal because the R6 was VERY fun to ride! So much fun in fact, 4 cops thought they'd arrest me because it was so awesome and also because they said I was endangering others. 5th was OK but, I commute 70 per day and I was tired of being the turtle on the road while making payments that were essentially what I pay for my WRX now.

Last, I freaking LOVE my 10' SSM WRX Hatch.....and between my wife and I we've had 5 Subarus since 2005.

2005 2.5 Sedan SSM
2009 2.5i Hatch OBP
2011 2.5i Hatch SWP
2010 WRX Hatch SSM
2012 Outback DGM

2006 Honda S2000. It was lightly modded with intake, exhaust, coilovers, and a tune. Was a great source of fun, but not a 4 season car.

Loved that car, but love my WRX more.

I've got more space, it's faster, and I've no urge to mod anything on the car. Might go with a Cobb AP and tune, just because I've seen firsthand what a good tuner can do for a car. Other than that, the WRX does everything I need/want it to.

Traded this in on my WRX. 08 SI. Very fun car to drive. It even had some advantages over my WRX. Interior material and finish was better as was the consistent 30+ MPG. Never had a single issue with it over 70,000 miles. Car still had the original tires and brakes on it when I traded it.

Original tires at 70K? You must not have had TOO much fun driving it.
Geez, I'm ready for new tires before 30K goes by in the wagon.

I'm envious...though I'm starting to think that my particular Falken choice is why I eat up my tires. (More smiles than miles)
Yeah, and the way I take roundabouts and the S-curve near work probably has something to do with it, as well.

here's my list, in reverse chronological order just for kicks:

2013 Subaru WRX
2010 Toyota Prius
2008 Ford Mustang GT
2007 Nissan Altima
2004 Nissan Titan
2004 Honda Pilot
2003 Jeep Wranger Rubicon (still own, purchased in 2008)
1999 Chevy Blazer
1998 Pontiac Grand Am
1993 Buick Century
1989 Ford Taurus
1989 Mercury Topaz
1988 Ford Escort EXP

also in the mix were two motorcycles; Kawasaki Vulcan 900 and Yamaha Roadstar (1700). I liked all my cars for different reasons. The one I miss the most is the Nissan Titan. I'd love to take an EXP out for a spin again. That car took me to New York and back a couple of times.

I previously drove an 08 SRT Jeep. while the WRX isn't as fast in a straight line, it's nice to be back in a car. I liked the Jeep because it was pretty rare and you could use all of it's power on the street if the mood took you. what I didn't like was the cost to maintain it out of warranty and the fuel expense.

going fast in the Jeep was a little scarier, the WRX makes me more confident when getting on it. in a perfect world I'd own both.
