    Previous drives were:

1985 Mustang LX sedan (first car)
1995 Plymouth Neon (sold replaced by WRX)

The Neon was a great car for the money. I know there are some Neon haters on this board so open your minds for a moment. In 1995, there wasn't a compact that could touch it in terms of price, freatures & "fun to drive." 132 hp 16-valve SOHC, 4 wheel antilock brakes, 4 wheel independent suspension, great 5-speed. When I sold it, had over 150,000k on it and ran like a champ. Replaced frt. wheel bearings, water pump, battery, belts - nothing major.

Between www.neons.org (the best club site on the net) and www.allpar.com, there was great support sources for info on the car and for modding.

Alas, there is a new love now - 2003 sonic yellow WRX sedan. I have wanted a turbo car ever since, at age 14, I rode in a neighbors Buick Grand National (turbo V6), and now I have one with AWD to boot. I may never buy another car without both these features - it's just that much fun.

'92 Corolla Wagon with sticky rubber.
    Best car ever!
    My family still owns it.
Only basic maintenence, oil changes, etc., and it never once broke down. Actually, the original battery left me stranded, but it was 8 years old, so I forgave it.

sunk in lake? i bet theres a good story behind this
ya, i bought the 83 for 50 bucks with the intention of seeing how far i could push it before it broke, and the first night i had it my friend and i went cruizin through the sand dunes near my house. we wanted to see how much water we could drive it though before it floated, and on the second try, i nosed it into a hole under water. water came in up to the middle of the steering wheel, over the heads in the carb, (hitachi carb, dont try rebuilding it) and everything. a couple guys who were watching us rather amused threw us a strap and pulled us out. we dried out the distributer cap, it sputtered, and we drove out of the dunes. good times...
