Keep the Rex, yeah it's slower...but it's Subaru reliability and I think it looks way sexier.
This is a discussion on Trade-in my REX for EVO? within the Everyday Impreza Talk forums, part of the Community - Meet other Enthusiasts category; I’m NOT going to. I just think about. Why? 1.I can not accept the stock sterling wheel. I’ve replaced it ...
I’m NOT going to. I just think about.
Why?
1.I can not accept the stock sterling wheel. I’ve replaced it to chamois 350mm rally stile, and I love it.

But I lose my cruse control and miss it!!!
2. I have replaced the windshield twice, but have a chips again. How long????
3. I got a 4 small chips on the hood of my baby and about 7 on the front bumper, in spite of the fact that I have covered transparent vinyl on the hood!
I have my second car (infiniti G35) twice longer, but do not have any scratch or chip on it. Why?
4. After 1 year of driving, WRX is not seems like a fist enough. And defiantly not enough of torque.
OK. I went to dealership and did a test drive (btw, it’s not easy to get an EVO for a test drive, I had to shake my black AMEX card to get one!) and found out what I like this car – it’ faster, sharper, sporty, better handling and got nice yellow color as option (I LOVE brightly yellow!).
But two thinks stop me to close the deal: the Evo has 5.5 inches ground clearance, and this is not a good deal against WRX’s 6.1 inches which sometimes is not enough (when driving on snow or gravel). I don’t want to braking in front of each bump or rock!
Even an Sti got 5.9! But Sti has a big engine, big sterling wheel and much more expensive, so it’s not a right car for me. WRX, or Evo.
The second thing is ordinary – I love my rex!
What folks think about? Is Evo8 better than WRX?
Here is my baby.

Stay true to Subaru, stock evo's are ugly.
Black AMEX, eh? What's stopping you from having both?Originally posted by SpeedMaster

WRX-less, now RSX-y!!!
the evo is a better car than your wrx.

I detected just a two problem: 1) low ground clearance 2)expensive intercooler located at front and may be damaged easily.
But the interior is a big question -- it's cheap...

evo's a better car, no doubt... but since you already own the rex, i dont know if its really worth trading already. especially with mitsu going down the crapper lately.
i would stick with the rex and give this decision more thought

i'm sorry if i may seem ignorant to anything here,.....BUT
why trade in your wrx to get an evo? do you have a mods done to your wrx? if it is bonestock, i can understand that you may feel that its not fast enough, but easy RELIABLE mods is the reason i chose the wrx.
why dont you save your money and time and just mod the WRX? go stage 2 if you havent already. and if you have have go stage 4
i dont know, i wouldnt waste my time, money, or paper to drive a EVO. and your right, the interior is very bland, wrx is not the best but id rather sit in a wrx then a evo
and yes, the evo is a better car, but if you spend the money in mods you saved from buying an evo, the wrx will be a beast. i am talkin equal money value, NOT mod for mod. wrx modded with the money you will save from not going with the evo.
"oh yea yea yea, no eating here tonite, no eating here tonite, your on a diet".....they joy of having a 2 year old
I don ‘t have a mods. I’ve done some work and spend some money for protection and several wills sets (gravel, show and street), rally steering wheel, blow off valve, intake...
I do not see any reason to do a modifications. For example, get a good Brembo brakes will cost more than $6k. Sti is $6000 more expensive than WRX and already has a Brembo as well as 300hp and other benefits.
Btw, I found out, what I can get the STi for $480/month, however a new EVO will be $520…
[thoughtful] may be get an STI?
