It's a covered, hardened cable that has one end ni the cabin of the car, the other locking the hood. there is a cylinder key to open the lock. it's very difficult to circumvent and why is this important? because if you wire your alarm correctly, no one will be able to get under the hood to disable it.
    For $39.99 I would think that some bolt cutters would easily cut through this.

    ok I called brant to find out about getting these alarms sent to the US

    the guy said they will not sell the units without them installing them to anyone even (especially) in australia. obviously this is one of the key reasons these alarms haven't been beaten by thieves. Also said they have no installers in the US.

    I still find it wierd that Subaru America haven't looked into installing these systems (they're not expensive only about US$300 installed) and thats single unit price.

    oh well maybe if enough of you guys complain to subaru america they will do something about it

    Anyone know what happened with Kenshin? Haven't heard from him after he posted about his being stolen.
