    Bill,

Sorry to hear about the accident. Glad to hear that you are doing OK.

Hope to still see you around here even though the rex is gone.

Sorry to hear about your injuries. as much as well all love our cars, they are just machines and no where as important as our lives.

Be careful with your head injury. I had a bad mountain bike accident about ten years ago that left me in a come for 2 days. I also have no memory of what happend. My doctor did tell me something important. he said that once you get a bad concussion, you are more likely to get another one. I think the brain only had a limited warantee I did get another concussion on another bike crash, but this crash was less intense. I was woozy for a few days. Now I always wear a full face helmet when I ride.

Let all have fun, but be careful. You never know what may happen.

    Peace

That sucks cause I love to ride my Ellsworth downhill. I'm going to have to be more careful when I ride now too? Bummer!

I really appreciate all the responses. I'm really sad about losing my car. I've never felt as passionate about a car as I did about this one. But all who say that what really matters is that I survived are right. Besides, now I might be able to get an STi or a Forester XT! j/k

I sold my Specialized DH rig with a Monster T fork to get my 4 pots.

I have had 2 ankle surgeries and a couple fractured vertebrae from racing DH. I was getting to old for the hospital stays.

    Bill,

Just heard about the accident- I'm very sorry. Very glad you are OK. I know you were jacked and ready to get your Volks and Pirelli's on.

Definitely try and buy the car from the insurance company- they will sell it cheap. You'll easily recoup that $ from the money you earn selling bits off of it. Not just the performance bits either- mundane things like trunks, interior lights etc. Just browse through some of the private wanted to get an idea.

    Best of luck.

    Mike

Driving a FWD turbo is like masturbating. It is all fun until you realize that your just f***ing yourself.

Geez! You leave town for a couple days and this kind of thing happens. Glad to hear that you are ALIVE. Thank God for that.

This certainly is a bit late, but glad to see you're ok man!
Like a lot of ppl said already, don't worry about the car too much.
What would a rex do for ya if you were a parapalegic?

The first bad accident I was in, I actually started crying when my car stopped spinning 'cause I loved it so much (1st car), but then I realized that if I had it happened 1 second earlier, my friend sitting next to me would've been seriously injured or killed. He got the biggest hug that i've ever given him

Just goes to show that thinking too much about the car, or the accident for that matter, can distract you from the really important stuff.

Anyways, feel better, good luck w/ everything.
