I believe the underlying problem here is the curbs. I think they are starting to revolt. This is probably the 20th thread in the last couple weeks about curbs jumping out in front of younger drivers.

The President should be doing more to keep these curbs in their place!
I wanna know what the new cantidates are going to do about the uprising. These are issues that actually apply to me.

Dont ban me for political ramblings- but the curbs have to be stopped!

Thumbs down Hit a curb.....Now what

I spun out today on a huge patch of ice and slammed into a curb....

So I am trying to figure out the exact parts that are needing replacement.....

what are the two metal rods that run parallel to the rear axel? One of them connects the knuckle to the frame and one connects in the same way only the end link connect from the metal rod to the sway bar.....

Is it the tie rod? or the control arm?? Im not sure of the exact terminology.....

Any advice would be much appreciated.......

I think you're describing the lateral links. There's a front and rear on either side of the rear axle.

I bent up the actual knuckle in my '02 a few years back. Luckily didn't damage anything else though. It was still pretty strange that the solid knuckle took all of the damage and the lateral links and associated suspension parts were fine...

Sorry man, sucks but it happens. Learn from this. Slow down in the snow.

There will be many more curb stories before the season is done.

Yes, I certainly have come to realize that awd dosen't mean I can drive in the most inclement weather and not have to worry about traction.....It was a foolish decision and a lack of good judgement on my part and im paying for it....

But on the plus side......I wont be putting miles on my car while im fixing it, and it is an excuse to beef up the rear suspension.....

    On a side note

How much forward and back motion should be allowed by the rear axel, because after I removed the latteral links and what was left of the sway bar end link, I was lifting up on the rotor and noticed that there is about 2 inches of forward and back play in the shaft..........

also are we all pretty much limited to the internet and dealerships for simple replacement nuts and bolts, or do places like advanced autoparts orileys and autozone carry oem replacement parts???.....
