Just got home from the the drag strip.

Was my first time and my times ranged from 16.4-15.51 with reaction time improving from 1.7 (didn't launch at all that time) to 7.7 (launched at 4K rpms)

I definatly need more parts for my bugeye and a tune before I do that again.

You really shouldn't decide how quick a car is, from one person's first time at a drag strip...

+2....not everyone is able/willing to drive their car in a such a way to get the fastest 1/4 mile time.
0-60 faster then your first sexual experience.

i think it would be more fair for all cars if all times were calculated without launch

That would be a problem. Then you would have to figure out EXACTLY what constitutes a "launch". Would it be the same from car to car? I think that's why 0-60 times are generally based on basically whatever the fastest way you can get a car to 60 is... It really is the most likely the fairest way to judge that aspect of performance...

I agree, I ran 15.1 my first time. I think it was my lack of experiance and the fact it was 90 degrees.

My biggest problem is i'm still discovering what all's done to my WRX. I bought it used about a month ago and the previous owner started bolting on parts without tuning the car...so I think it's my lack of experience at the track and the car needing a tune

Well I don't feel so bad now...track was only 67 degree's and Mustangs that are normally in the 11's were running high 13's so now I feel a little better....but makes me wonder what the saturn Ion's were doing running 14 flat...

    Saleen mustang ran 15.3
    EVO 9 ran a 13.5
Type R civic (real type r) only ran a 15.5

So maybe my WRX times are realistic compared to those...

Sounds like the track maynothave been prepped correctly, and not enough compound was laid down. I would say you weren't doing to bad if you hung with a Saleen!
