Handbrake wiggles from side to side?

    Hello everyone

New owner of a 2016 WRX here and I was curious to see if anyone else has this issue. When my parking brake is down, I can wiggle it from side to side - like half a cm or so? When the parking brake is up, its nice and tight though. Does anyone else's WRX have this too?

What you're experiencing is new car buyers OCD...it usually happens within the first few weeks or months depending on each individual...I would recommend you stop shaking the handbrake side to side.

Just wait until next years winter rattles gain full speed. You're going to lose your f***ing mind if a little wiggle in the hand brake bothers you. Yes, this is normal. Yes, it's because we're driving beefed up economy cars.

You can try and open the boot and console and tighten things down if you can, some of them are just arms on pins and there is wiggle room so that the arm moves freely in the pivot point. If you can't tighten it you may be able to find some plastic washers to fit and tighten things up.

It's pretty normal in many cars with a handbrake though.
