How do I know if I have an "s" or "ss" model? Base or premium?

I just bought an '09 WRX and the dealership wasn't too clear on what it was, and honestly I didn't ask too much because all I was interested in was mileage under 60k, manual trans, clear title, cruise control, good condition and not modded/owned by a young guy. So now that I have this, how do I go about finding out what trim level it is?

Premium should have a sunroof. Base will not.

I see. I kind of figured I had a base, which is cool with me. So am I right in thinking that ss refers to the premium model and s refers to the base? I see that every so often in aftermarket parts sites.

I think he's referring to where you are seeing "S" or "SS" Never before seen that myself.

This should help you out. This page has great info on pretty much any Subaru, but the page linked will show pictures, pricing, specs & features of the 09 WRX, WRX GT and STI

Are you thinking of Chevy cars? They are the only, if my memory serves me, that usesthe "SS" tag (super sport) cars. Brands like Toyota/Acura use "s" to stand for sport version. Subaru, however, has never used the "s" designation. Please tell me the dealership didn't tell you it was a "s" or "SS" model?!

They substitute touring for limited on the new forester. Not sure if they do on other models.

In the past subaru has used sport to designate some impreza models (outback sport or impreza sport) and gt on some legacy and an auto wrx.

You can call SOA and have them run the VIN for you. They'll tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the vehicle.

WOW. That's a nice page of info there. I have a lot of reading to do, thank you! But yea when I go to certain parts places, (I'll get the websites for you) they ask if it's an s or ss. Let me see if I can find them again.

Base has cloth seats and no sunroof, premium has better wheels, heated seats and moonroof. Limited has leather seats, heated seats, kraft wheels and sunroof

The limited WRX does not have different wheels from the base WRX.

Ahh I see. I definitely have the base model. Wife's mad about non heated seats but I don't care lol. I don't need any of that stuff personally. I just need awd, a turbo, cruise, and a usb radio and I'm good. Anything else is a bonus. Lighter weight and less to break is how I see it. Let me find these sites now.
