    Mint find by returning member

    I've owned 2 wrx's before, 03 sedan and 04 wagon.

My son is 16 drives 04 Maz3, has been wanting a Wrx.

Searched long time and found a 9-2x Saaburu Aero out of Dallas this past weekend. I understand it differs in:
    1. Sunroof - an option even for saab
    2. More sound deadening material!
    3. STI steering rack, yes!
    4. Stereo/Ac controls from a Forrester?
    5. Slightly diff grille and lights?
    6. Badging of course is Saab

    I miss anything?

Based on apparent condition I did a fly/drive immediately.

05, 80k/mi, bone stock, 5mt, serviced, appears well kept. Couple very small parking lot hickies.

I see guys asking twice what I paid for same vintage with twice the miles that have probably been built and bombed.

Anyway, pretty exited as is my son.

Thinking of doing the belt soon based more on age than miles.

The kid will be responsible for his own upgrades.

    Nice!
The only Saab I've ever liked.
    Great condition.
Doing the belt and waterpump id a good idea.
I don't put a whole lot of miles on my car, so most maintenance is based on age.
Great score, make sure he understands what he's got, and it and the laws must be respected.
    Your a good Dad.

    Thanks guys.
I felt like I stole it....

I think kid pretty excited... It's what he wanted... He's not s super aggressive driver and the AWD will be safer in winter.. So win win I figure... If he doesn't crash it, probably get all money back out in 4-5yrs... Although might just Sti swap it at that point...!

    Very nice find and congrats!

To be clear, it's mechanically identical to the WRX of the same year including the steering rack.
2015 CWP WRX STi ... But how did I get roped back into an EJ motor?!

Looks like it has a meagan racing cat back or similar on it. Looks like the muffler is painted black and the tip is rather large. I though they were the same as the WRX but i haven't ever really paid attention When I saw one of the Saabs.

Very nice looking car. I think I like the grill on the Saab better than the Subaru of that year and that is my favorite front end for the Subarus.

Because all WRX/STi received the same steering rack after 2005 (and until 2015).

Looks pretty much identical to my roommates stock Saabaru exhaust.

I'm pretty sure exhaust is stock. It's very quiet.

Zax- you said after 05 all received Sti steering... Assume you meant after 04, so "05 & up"...? Sorry to labor the point... Just wanted to understand what I have.. Thnx!
