OK I bought one for the following reason.

Nothing out there that is sporty/cool is as practical as a WRX/STi. I mean it's got 4 doors, good space inside and in trunk. Got a fair amount of features and good pickup. Now I could have easily gone looking for a lower end Audi, Lexus or Mercedes. Heck even a Toyota or Honda. They all probably have better features than a WRX/STi. But I wouldn't look at them and go that's a sharp car. Well maybe the Audi or Mercedes. But there's a certain amount of disdain and snobbery people think when you drive one. Whereas I'll take the racerboy stereotype over that any day.

    Nailed it!

Plus I love the tech in the mini lcd screen, the alcantara seating and AWD.

4 door AWD sports car that i've always wanted. Not to mention I love the looks of the stink eye hatch.

Didn't hurt that the wife had 0 problems with me trading in my Mazda 3 for it.

2 words for my beloved bugeye WRX: "raw" and "practical".

The more I modded it, the rawer it became. In the winter time, the 18G hits like Mjolnir in 2nd gear. The ride with Prodrives, KYB's, rsb is on the harsh side...but imminently controllable. Crazy fun.

Practical...I can take this thing to the horse farm and pick up 2 kids, throw Western saddles into the back of the wagon hatch, and cruise home in pouring rain with nice confidence.

There simply aren't a lot of options that provide all of this.

Power that is usable at all times. The 2015 interior finalized it.

I've always wanted a Subaru; was a dream car. I honestly didn't know the difference between the Impreza, WRX and the STi up until this year. We have a Highlander and the AWD pretty much impressed with the way it handles in snow versus the FWD & 4WD cars we've had in the past.

Then of course the stock power you get and the sound is just too beautiful Seems like the Subi owners are level headed bunch.

Now just waiting for some snow fall this winter and let her rip
