    help sluggish 1st gear at low rpm??

    I just bought a 2005 wrx and it runs fine but from a dead stop it's very sluggish but when gets to 3k rpm it runs strong. . I was told to check compression so I did. It was 120.118.126.122 I have a Ej20 motor with 6 speed sti tranny with a few bolts on waste gate front mount cooler bigger fuel pump and has evc boost controller by hks. . Is there any else I need to check before I take it somewhere ??? Suggestions please thanks

    It has perrin external wastegate.. perrin bov..3 in exhaust from turbo back.. k&n air intake .. and hks evc is all that I know of.. I just got it from a guy who didn't really know much of what he had

    Yea I have a appt. Next week with all aspects a local shop here I was just trying to get a idea of what to expect .thanks anyways

    I'm guessing the compression test was done cold?


    I would look into the tune, AFR.. leaks, pre-turbo exhaust and post-MAF intake.

    Yes it was done cold..it's building good boost it does 17 psi but I dont know much about the cars this is my first one.. just want to make sure I have everything right before I drive it alot

    This sounds like heat soak to me.

    Is it hot and humid where you live OP?

    Yea it's pretty hot here normally 90s 100s in summer ..it was 97 today..
