WEAR ITEM COVERAGE is 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Items covered are brake pad/shoe linings, clutch linings, and wiper blades.
I posted this earlier in this thread...
My sister, 5 years older than me, is thinking about getting driving lessons. We went to get some infos from a driving school and the receptioninst told her that it's better to practice at home. This is the segment that I find amusing:
- Sister: practice at home? but my brother's car is a manual.
- Receptionist: oh don't worry, we all start the basics with automatic and you can switch after you know how to start a car.
- Sister: but isn't that complicated? I see my brother using all 4 limbs...
- Receptionist: Oh no, don't worry. Automatic means the car drives for you; manual means you drive the car.
- Sister: sounds awful...
- Receptionist(to me): So I'm curious, what car are you driving?
- Me: Subaru Impreza WRX 2014
- Receptionist(to my sister): **eyes widened** ... ok ... well if you're not comfortable, then you can think as you don't have a car yet. Not everyone has a car before they take lessons. **nervous laughter**
Here is another reason to not let your girlfriend drive a nice car to learn. This is not satirical at all...
Back in 2004 when i bought my First new car, An '04 VW GTI VR6, 2 weeks after i bought it, i let my girlfriend drive in a beach parking lot in British Columbia. I was thinking you know what there is only one car in this sandy parking lot we will stay away from that end and she can practice driving stick for the first time(first mistake).
She picked it up pretty quickly, i was quite impressed. She stalled the first time but after that we were good. she never dropped the clutch or anything. The issue came about when i told her i was confident enough to let her put it into 2nd(second mistake). we were parked facing the direction of, i will reiterate, the ONLY other car in a 5 Mile area. I specifically mentioned "2nd gear is a powerful gear, we can get up to 60MPH in this gear. This is not a race car, you are not a race car driver."
She let the clutch out into 1st, no problems, and then to 2nd. wouldn't you know the next words out of her mouth was "it's like a race car" as she hammered down on the gas and headed straight at the caravan in front of us... As i was screaming at her "What the **** did i just say" and "why are you driving straight at that van" i literally had to grab the steering wheel and drift(from the passenger seat) beside the van. I closed my eyes and waited for the Crunch. Luckily(as if there is any luck about to happen) we missed the van, Must have been by inches. She failed to even touch the brakes or release the clutch(talk about a deer in the headlights) so we kept on keepin on, right into a ditch and smoked a tree... When i finished screaming and yelling about the fact that if my car is ruined she just bought it. I hoped out to assess the damages(we were on a beach and so i had sandals on<-- this is important because) and stepped directly into a Bees nest acquiring 3-4 bee stings on my toes and bottom of my foot!. NFJK. At that point in time all i could do was Scream, quite honestly scream so loud that I'm positive all of kootenay lake heard me. Kind of like one of those picturesque shots of birds fleeing from trees in the distance.
Turns out i could pull it out of the ditch and somehow all that was messed up was the Passenger front quarter panel, and some skid plates. to date that was the only accident that the car ever had. when people ask about the how i got the dent i tell them i tell them its where i hit my girlfriend, she hates it but i will never let her live it down...ever.... or drive my car again, She is well aware that if she wants to drive a MT she go wreck her own! Tough love? maybe. smart move, definitely.
hopefully this makes OP feel a little better as it could have been a lot worse.
