Nailed it for the first time.

So, I've owned my WRX for about 8 months now, and I still hadn't really nailed it.

Driving today I found myself pulling out of an empty intersection on to any empty piece of road. 'What the hell' I thought, foot to the floor. Redline in 1st, into 2nd and hit the redline in that too. I was very happy with how smoothly it pulled all the way through the range, how quickly it pulled and hit 100km/h in 2nd.

Don't worry, I didn't break any laws. It was a piece of open road (100km/h limit) and there were no other cars in sight.

It certainly surprised me to hit 100 in 2nd. I'm guessing it's pretty normal though. My car is stock-as-a-rock engine wise. It's a JDM though.

Does the extra 20ish HP of the JDM spec make a noticeable difference to performance? Has anyone driven both to compare?

Also, how different is the power curve between the JDM and USDM? Does the USDM have less torque as well? JDM has around 330Nm (240ish lb/ft).

Other than a couple Australians (who don't seem to stick around very long), and a crazy weasel from the UK, we're pretty much all US-based here. While I've been to Japan and seen the rare STI "S" models like the S202 or S204, I have been inside them, much less driven them.

When I read the title I thought to myself, this could go 2 ways. Let's just say it went the way that I was expecting but hoping not to hear hahaha.
