Thumbs up 01 WRX vs 02 WRX

    Hey all,
just joined but needed some help...

Here in Australia we have the 2001 WRX and it honestly looks identical to the 02 WRX. I have looked up the specs and only the gas mileage, kerb weight and length are different.

If it is identical then why do most parts cut out the 01 model?

    Cheers and Thankyou

Probably because most of those parts are made by American companies. On Jap or Euro sites I have often seen parts listed as being compatible with 01-03 year models.

So would you think that 02 WRX parts would suit 01 WRX if I bought off American sites?

If the 01 is a new age bugeye car, potentially. ECU stuff probably not; engine and chassis stuff probably yes.

    01 WRX vs 02 WRX

Keep in mind different markets got different chassis parts too as well. Example: US cars didn't get 17" wheels and the larger brakes seen in EU models, etc.
