    ^ Well said.

Don't get me wrong...turbo is fun and I love spool and the kick-in-the-pants onset of boost...I probably would still get an STI or WRX if it was an N/A 265-300hp H6 or something as well because I like more about these silly cars than just the turbo.

That being said...I did jump into a 350z after my first STI because I wanted to try something higher powered N/A. Power was definitely there in a fun sporty car, but I missed the turbo that much to where I got rid of the Z in just a year.

I like the look of the 350Z but I imagine the REX is overall the better choice.

Yeah it did look great...especially in black with orange seats. But it just wasn't functional, especially in my climate area. And to really mod/extract any power from it other than what it had...you're looking at forced induction (which the VQ motors actually respond very well to).

Yeah the climate in my area is defiantly wrx friendly lol lots of snow here, 3+ feet of snow in my backyard usually so the roads suck lol. RWD isn't very ideal.

You're question is misleading, because a non-turbo WRX or STi will not be 265 HP.

    I got my 227 HP WRX because I didn't want a 165 HP Impreza.
I got my 245 HP Outback with a turbo because I didn't want the 170 HP n/a one.
I have a 78 HP n/a car, too and it is exceedingly fun to drive . Higher HP does not always equal more fun.

    78 hp?

Not sure how much "fun" that can be but to each their own.

Does a turbo really make that big of a difference between a non turbo 265hp engine and one that is?
I didn't specify it had to be a subaru. Hell, it could be the 268HP Camry. The wrx would smoke it i think.

78HP is more than enough for fun, or to get someone not quite up to par into a world of trouble.

This Abarth has less and has troubled both naive drivers and their orthopaedic surgeons repeatedly. I will say this though -- never gain in an Autobianchi.

    Enough said.

The wrx doesn't stand a chance against that

Well, like I said, never again in an Autobianchi. Anyway, that one seems a special edition of sorts, I had not seen the integrated lamps into the bumper or the Franco-Italian flags badge around the Abarth scorpion.

Back on topic, there are countless cars that are very fun but have less than 100 HP. This happens to be one of them.

I guess we just have different opinions on "fun" when it comes to HP. a 500HP Shelby would be fun to drive but for others I guess not so much lol

The point is that HP and fun are not strictly related.

Let me ask you this: what's the lowest powered car you've crashed?

No, like those times when one runs out of luck, skill, or real estate.

Apparently. you've never driven a car that requires you to participate in the driving. Here's my 78 no-fun car.

My first six cars all had less than 100 HP. The HP of my first five cars combined had less HP than my WRX or Outback.

Yea you did. You asked it we still would buy a WRX or STi if it didn't come with a turbo. A WRX or STi without a turbo is an Impreza. Your original question is flawed.

    Steve

[Edit] Come to think of it, my Smart only has 70 HP, and it is a blast to drive. So thinking back, of all the cars I've ever owned in 45 years of driving, only the WRX and Outback had more than 85 HP.
