    I did something really stupid?

Am I SOL? Buyer remorse is setting in. This was spur of a moment thing that should have been taken more seriously, since cars are such a big buy. I'm just trying to figure out how much will I be set back getting the engine looked at and probably replaced? I know the 09 is kinda infamous for engine troubles.

That would be good info. LOL. Sorry I forgot to include that. I bought it. Buyer remorse is setting in. How much will I be set back getting the engine looked at and probably replaced? I know the 09 is kinda infamous for engine troubles.

Yeah the "Engine is making noises" line is probably due to a spun bearing

Price on a rebuilt/replacement engine will vary a lot. Where are you located maybe someone local to you will be able to recommend a good shop.

Compression / leakdown test will tell you what (if anything) needs replacement. Should run you $200-300 for both tests.

Hit up Kozmic Motorsports (281) 890-4772.. I've been hearing good things about them lately, especially concerning customer service. Get them to look over the car and see what they say.

Thank you! I'll see what they can do for me.

I have to say, I like these forums a lot more than NASIOC. A lot of the people there make you feel dumb for asking questions.

Price isn't that bad even if you end up rebuilding the engine or do a swap. Good luck with everything.

Yeah, even if you're out $3k for an engine, you could still come out ahead with the purchase price that low. I wouldn't say you're screwed by any means. Best of luck with the new WRX!

Did I do it right? Is that how to internet forum??

Good luck with it, but as others said, even if you do have to replace the motor, with an initial price that low you'll still be making out pretty well!
