    2013 STI REV Happy Motor?

In the market for a 2013 sti. Would you guys say the motor is rev happy? Or is it more of a mid range RPM motor? Does the motor want to keep pulling at high RPM? Never drove one yet. Just wanted to see what you guys have to say.

What is redline on the 2013 sti? and 2013 WRX?
When does ECU do fuel cutoff?

    Thx

Define rev happy? Do you mean like honda rev happy where Vtec kicked in or rev happy in the sense you can run it up to 12K RPM and not worry about it breaking?

The power starts to die off at the top end. But the shift points are pretty well placed that the gear change borders both sides of the peak curve. It's definitely worth it to get a stage 1 tune though.

Shouldn't matter though.... Power is power. And I'd rather have a car with power down low than one with 0 power until 7k rpm

Pfft who needs usable power? It never ceases to amaze me how many people care more about the peak than the area under the curve.

Yup. Been there done that, much prefer the middle of the road powerband of the WRX.

Coming from an S2000, I had to retrain my brain. That car did not have much until you hit VTEC, and you had to keep it wound up tight to make power. I had to get used to where the new shift points are to take advantage of all the torque in the mid-range in the WRX.

Peak numbers are good for bragging rights, but I'll take more area under the curve and better driveability any day of the week.

It's revving too high. VTEC needs to kick in.

Just disable the rev limiter. Great first mod.

No.. stock they have a rev limiter at 7k (or like 6800 or something in the new ones). Not that you would have a reason to rev it past that anyways. The stock turbo is too small to keep making power up top anyways.
