Yeah. You were probably just coasting a little bit in there which made it look like you were getting really good gas mileage. I have coasted down a hill in neutral before and had that MPG calculation show 99 mpg before.
This is a discussion on Is my new '13 TOO fuel efficient? within the Everyday Impreza Talk forums, part of the Community - Meet other Enthusiasts category; I have about 750 miles on my 13 WRX hatch, and I normally average around 24.6-25.3 MPG on the trip ...
I have about 750 miles on my 13 WRX hatch, and I normally average around 24.6-25.3 MPG on the trip computer. I filled up this evening and reset the trip computer, and drove like normal. 2 miles in, my avg. mpg started going up to 28 and even topped out around 30.3 mpg, then held steady around 28.5 which has me very suspicious of a potential problem.
Has anyone else had this weird situation happen before?

The car can hit 30+ mpg at a steady cruise. Depending on how far you have gone and where you have been driving, 28 is entirely possible.

have you actually been calculating it manually? and either way, are you complaining that your MPG is TOO good?maybe they switched back to the summer fuel mixture where ever you live/its getting warmer outside.
i have a '13 hatch and i usually average the same MPG. i filled up yesterday and have driven 200 miles 90% highway at like (70-75) and the computer says 27.0 . usually its 0.8-1.4 higher than i'm actually getting when i do it manually
Im not complaining- just wanted to make sure that it wasn't a sign of something wrong. Dont wanna hurt my baby!

It is a bit warmer out- and I have just been babying it until break-in, so it is possible.
I'm lucky to get 20 MPG (2012 WRX Hatch) then again I usually do 80 mph all the time...

The MPG calculator on the dash is notorious for being off. Calculate MPG manually based on mileage vs fill-up amount.
