My 2013 wrx finally arrived!!!!

Well my '13 wrx arrived at the dealer yesterday. so super stoked! it drives so much smoother than my 4x4 truck, of course right? haha
its a base wrx with the homelink mirror and sti short shifter as the only options.

some first impressions, the sti/spt short shifter. 100% worth it, could it be a little shorter? sure. could it be a little tighter? sure. but for a factory option, its pretty darn good IMHO. its 1000% better than the one i test drove without the factory SS option. so i feel it was money well spent. and it will hold me off until i decide if i want any kind of kartboy or cobb short shifter to go along with the kartboy shifter bushings ill be ordering.

one thing i wish the car had and that i probably will order in a few weeks. the armrest extension. i didnt realize how far down that thing really is! oh and everything everyone says about the stereo, well its worse than that. but i didnt buy the car for its factory stereo, and thats an easy remedy anyways. but its 100% what i wanted in a car so i couldnt be happier with my purchase. esp the 10 mpg improvement over my truck.....lol cheers!

Congrats, looks good. BTW what kind of truck did you have? My 2011 F-150 5.0L V8 gets about the same mpg's as my '13 WRX. Grant it, my WRX still only has 1600 miles on it so its not even broken in. Also I thought the SS came with a different knob than the standard? I don't have the SS but my car came with that cool black metal STi knob. IMO the knob alone improves the shifting by 50% you might look into it.

as for my truck. it was an '11 nissan frontier 4x4. rated at 14/18 i averaged about 15 in it in 60/40 city/highway. but nissan trucks are notorious for poor fuel economy. my boss's 2wd titan gets about 11 mpgs. the wrx mpg computer is saying im averaging about 23 right now. but i wont know for sure till i figure it out at the pump. i know they arent the most accurate mpg calculators. as long as its better than 15 ill be happy though!

Yeah I know where you are coming from, I had an '08 Frontier, Crew Cab, V6 4x4 and got 14/15 no matter how I drove it. I get 22 on the highway out of a much more powerful and bigger '11 F-150. My lifetime mpgs are at 18.6 in the WRX, but I drive it pretty spiritedly most of the time since I really only get to drive it on the weekends. I have gotten 24 on a 200 mile road trip, some highway some hilly back roads.
