Someone on this forum had posted in a another topic, that our WRX/STI hood scoops made our Subarus looked pissed off and mean, when coming up fast on another car...KUDOS...I like that...got me thinking...what GEN do you all think has the best looking hood scoop?
My Favorite is a 2nd GEN STI Hood scoop, pictured below (albeit on my 2nd GEN WRX):
Regarding our 4th GEN WRX/STI, some may think all those scoops are too much Eye Candy, I like the fact they are form and function (though I am curious why the 4th GEN sedans have a rear exhaust diffuser and the hatchbacks don't?)
Now on to Ear Candy...what have you done to your WRX...purely for sound....I will admit to removing the Intake Silencer on every Impreza, WRX, and STI we've owned...just to hear the intake and turbo being louder...never did a BOV, have done cat back exhausts on one WRX and Impreza Sport Wagon.

Sorry zax...but your balls issue is your own concern and I ain't gonna touch upon it at all..LOL
Good question though regarding what the GEN the 2013 is...I've see GEN 3 reported as 2007-2010 (GE, GH, GR, GV) and GEN 4 reported as 2011-Present (GP, GJ) with what has been called wide body chassis/platform changes.
BTW...'boxer' or briefs?

1993(?)-2001 = GC (1st Gen)
2002-2007 = GD (2nd Gen)
2008+ = GR (3rd Gen)

Great info! But for us in 'Murica, we got these:
1993-2001 -- GM (coupe and sedan) and GF (wagon)
2002-2007 -- GD (Sedan) and GG (Wagon)
2010-current -- GV (Sedan) and GR (Hatch)
EDIT:
According to Wikipedia, the WRX (pre widebody) had the chassis designation GE (Sedan) and GH (Hatch), which is technically a different chassis code, despite the obvious similarities. Semantics, but this means the 2011+ WRX is actually a Gen 4 while the STi remains at Gen 3. Interesting. However, I would still classify this as 3G.

So where the hell does the GC come from? I knew they were never actually really supposed to be GC8s...

as far as the rear defuser. air is going to flow differently off the back of a sedan then it will a wagon. So my only guess is the engineers felt it did not need it.
