Not an Impreza but shows that with some modifications and careful driving you can do some off road if you really wanted to.

So the lesson learned...these cars are quite capable offroad, so long as you replace all of the components that interact with the ground. Good to know!

Supposedly, the 2014 WRX's are supposed to be jacked up for the off-roading bunch.

    I found this leaked picture...

Huh, well I guess this puts all those "Will XXXXX sized wheels fit my WRX?" threads to rest once and for all.

Yeah, I was browsing through that build log. It's truly a franken-brat, but pretty amazing the guy pulled it off!

Here's a good rundown of what goes into building a true rally car.
Up close and personal with David Higgins' 2012 Subaru WRX STI Rally Car [w/video]

So, pretty much everything is modified or replaced. I'm sure the WRC cars are even more extreme. However, many people compete in the rally series' around here with cars much closer to stock than Higgens' due to budget and/or class restrictions. The wrx or sti will be more capable off-road than say a civic, but if planning on doing some serious off-roading/rallying, plan on spending plenty to modify the car.
