I could not afford a car when I first drove a Subaru.
1. 600cc Subaru city car, blue
2. Justy, tan
3. GL wagon, maroon
4. My current Impreza. This is the Subaru I actually bought. Sometimes I regret it. The Impreza is a terrific car but I could have bought a Corolla or Civic and saved lots of money - though not had all the fun either, so it's a trade.
Sometimes when someone posts questions about whether to buy an Inpreza I will answer "no" and am being sincere. Choices.

2002 WRX was my first that I bought in 2002. I've owned two Subies. The other was a 2004 STi I picked up when they first hit the US.
First subie was actually my first car, 1985 Subaru GL (that is just a stock photo, not my actual car)....it was not legal in any way, as it had been wrecked. I bought it for $300 to win a bet, and drove it around my apartment complex when I was 15. It was sold to a scrapper a year later for $50
edit: Oh yeah....for the record, 2 subies...the junker GL and my current '11 WRX

Parents bought an SVX when it first game out when I was a kid. Sister had a GL wagon as well. My dad passed on to me his 1988 Mazda 323 GTX, poor man's WRX of the time. Loved that thing. Unfortunately the transfer case was its Achilles heel and it went about a year after I got it.My first Subaru, and current, is a 2006 OBP 2.5i. Got it with 67k, has 105k on it now. Going to drive it into the ground then swap a turbo motor in to it.

Underrated and underproduced car. The WRX before the WRX. I could drive that through anything, and it loved the cold air. Just wish there was more of an aftermarket for it.

I have had 2 Subaru cars. My first was a 2004 WRB WRX. My current car is a silver 2013 WRX.
