    Hey Guys,

I currently have an 07 WRX TR and I do just fine. I have found an 06 STi for 24300 with 61,300 on it. I had my buddy check it out and it dosnt seem to have anything major going on all we found was what looked to be either vavle cover gasget seal or cam seal leak. Other than that the rest of the issues are cosmetic. It has a cat back exhaust on it, K&N air filter, and a turbo timer on it. Other than that I cant see any other modifications. Do you guys think there is anything I should be worried about?

What is the price in your area of a brand new 2013 WRX with 265HP and a 3-year factory warranty?

See the Purchasing forum's top sticky threads for several viewpoints on what items one could check before buying a used Impreza. The first thing I'd do though is figure out how the used Impreza compares to a new Impreza.

I think you should be worried about $10,000.

I bought a brand spanking new 2013 WRX Base 5-door for $27,000. Out the door. Including a warranty.

I also bought a brand new 2012 WRX with a warranty for a little under $26,000 out the door.

3 years ago I put a deposit down on an 07 sti with 25k miles for just around the same price. Definitely too much.

If you REALLY want that DCCD, just sell your 07 and buy a brand new STi. You'll probably pay about the same amount for the car in the end thanks to the lower financing on the new car.

    Order one.

But definitely stay away from the one that you've looked at. A leak somewhere could turn into a bigger problem down the line. Way too much money. I bought my 05 STI for $19k 2 and a half years ago. And turbo timer? They obviously knew nothing about what they were doing.

Re: 07 WRX to 06 STi

All this talk of high priced STi's makes me wanna buy one, lock it up in a garage and try to forget about it for 60 years. Emphasis on "try".

But gotta drain the fluids first...
