how do you check on a newly ordered cars progress?

The most painful question out there.... The only two ways that I know of are to call the dealer and have them look it up or call SoA and have them look it up.

Someone mentioned a Domino's pizza-like update system online....that would be so awesome. Jim-Jim is installing the door panel, John is installing the headlights.

Waiting just plain sucks.

I'd probably want to be able to check, as well, so that I could plan for the car's arrival. Cody, do you never check tracking info for FedEx or UPS shipments?

Ya, I just ordered my 13 wrx on saturday and I have already called the dealer to check its status... I know I will most likely have to wait a week or two for a VON to appear, but I am sooo impatient.

What is the "VON" you speak of? A "VIN" is a Vehicle Identification Number, though...


Yeah, if you just ordered it, prepare to wait. There are a ton of threads just like yours on here about this. Search and scan through them to get a better idea of your wait time.

Vehicle Order Number. The first step in the long wait to the new wheels.

VON means it has been logged in the system, VIN means it is tied to real parts and a build date.

Sadly, you can't.

Well, not entirely true....your dealer and SoA can both look it up for you, but it is a pretty coarse system and doesn't update all that frequently....

Right. They have very vague updates (on the boat, on the truck...gee that's helpful!), but there's no way to track it like a UPS package.
