So I am procrastinating on my clutch replacement because I don't really have a ton of time to do it myself right now, but keep cringing at the thought of paying the dealer or the local Independent an extra $900 in labor/parts to do it.
So that sent my mind wandering to the thought of a lift.
At first I bargained with my dad about going in half-sies and installing it in his 40x60 shop (like he said he would since he built the damn thing in 2004), but alas I think he is getting to the point in life where he'd rather just pay to have someone else do it all, and I understand.
So then I thought, well why don't I buy it and put it in his shop? Well then if he sells in the next 5 years (like he has been threatening) what do I do with it, cause the 2 post we were eyeing wont fit in my garage...
I've used professionally almost every type of lift, from the Heavy duty 2 post (my personal fav), to the medium-lighter duty 4 post, to an alignment rack, to a scissor ramp lift, to a full under body scissor lift for wheel/tire changesand finally Ari-hetra style wheel lifts for 60,000lb + gvw equipment.
So I finally got some internet time to troll around and stumbled on this bendpak p6 open center lift.
BendPak P-6B, Open Center Low Rise Lift, 6,000 Lb. Capacity
It looks perfect for my third car bay, and seems to fit the potential budget at around $1800-$1900 delivered.
I like it because it is unobtrusive, the pad lift is pretty safe, I can use it for motorcycles and park over it.
But does anyone know if you can get a transmission out with it?
The published "pit width" is 32"-38" which is def wider than the WRX tranny.
I need some clubwrx opinions and feedback.
