My boyfriend is jealous that his Lexus community doesn't wave to each other like the subie community does. When he drives my car he always waves and says its a good feeling lol

Spooked a guy in a WRB STi today.
Sped up to him on his driverside, hit the brakes so that we were nose to nose.
Me: Deuces and a "nice scoobie man!"
Him: Deuces and a "you too man"
Sped off again because I was late =)

I'm new generation STI owner and I wave whenever possible. I was aware of the this culture and tradition because of threads like this. As I waited months for my car to show up I could only read the forums and learn. I got my very first wave about a minute into my test drive, and it made me grin. I now go out of my way to spread the tradition, especially with new people like me driving 2012's.

I have a 2009 WRX and i always wave or give some sort of gesture to any Impreza, Wrx, Sti, or modded forester, really anyone that i know is part of the "Fellowship"
I actually give the finger to any other subaru I see.

Around here there are so many Subarus and enough of a WRX crowd that just bought it because they thought it was an AWD version of Camry that I have given up waving for the most part. If the driver looks younger (I know, kind of hypocritic) or there are some mods then I wave.
On my way home from town the other day I was following car and there was a truck further ahead. All of a sudden we were all bunched up. Once I could see, sure enough a white WRX with an older lady driver was cutting it up 15mph below the speed limit.

Locally I have seen one (SWP sedan, '09 I think) WRX driven by an old lady.....man, the dealer saw her coming a mile away. I am pretty sure it was her car too, as it had the usual old lady rear deck ornamentation. I see no reason to spend the extra money on the sport or special models if you are not going to utilise them. There is a 40's ish woman locally with a beaut of a bugeye sedan in sonic yellow.....which threw me...but I did see her git on it, which was kinda cool.
About 2 years ago I saw a blue-hair driving a new Dodge Challenger DUB edition....man, dealers are uber shady sometimes. I guarantee that octogenarian did not go to Dodge and ask for the 22" chromes and deafening stereo package.

All too true about dealers, they'll get every penny they can from anyone who doesn't stand their ground.

One of my favorite moments was driving through a grocery store parking lot. I spied a Subie wagon with a hood scoop and big fogs. WRB and all. As it got closer I prepared to throw deuces at what I assumed would be a guy in his 20's. Turns out it was a mom type in her 40's or 50's with two teenagers in the back. I assumed I wouldn't get a response so I didn't do anything...
She threw up deuces!
It made my entire week.
