    Don't drive angry.

I don't know about you guys but when I'm angry my driving reflects it.
I've been having a bad week and today I hit a curb at about 30. Its a bad habit that I need to break, hopefully this will teach me:

Luckily, its not as bad as the pictures look. Its a Goodyear Eagle GT tire, looks like it only got the rim protector. And from what I've read, they supply none of the main structural integrity of the sidewall.
I have a 3k tire rotation coming up, I can't wait to hear the crap I'm gonna get. Guess it was my fault.
Drive Angry with Nic Cage wasn't THAT great and it totally sucks when crap like this happens.

At least you and those around you were not harmed. Could have been much worse.

You should probably also have the suspension checked out. I hit some debris some moron left in the middle of the road at night - hard enough to put a gash in my tire similiar the damage done to yours. I thought it was just a flat until the mechanic told me the strut was also damaged.

And definitely at least no one was hurt.

    Glad the damage wasn't worse.

I've been actively working to be calmer in traffic for years..
    Two things seem to help:

    • Ignore the cars around you. They all have their own mind sets, their own agendas, and you have no way of knowing what that person has been through, today. Leave space, and ignore.
    • Enjoy the drive, rather than obsess about the destination. BE DRIVING while you're driving. Roll down the windows, listen to the birds, observe things along the way. Leave earlier if you're constantly late. Your time in traffic is largely beyond your control, so put on your favorite music, and sit back.

I don't know. I pulled off a perfect corner slide after being pissed off spending 2 hours shoe shopping with my wife & returning empty handed. I have not been able to replicate that since.

Wow, with some damage I would recommend you go get an alignment. I did the same thing -- also when I was angry -- in my last car and I needed an alignment. And there wasn't any damage...

Additionally, my first ever "incident" driving was about 15 years ago now when I was leaving my high school. I was sitting at a stop sign and cross traffic did not have a stop/signal. The lady in the left turn lane just sat there, perplexed at what to do. I honked. I yelled (windows up). And then I got fed up and punched it as I cranked my wheel to the left to make my left turn. You know, it turns out that RWD pushed by a small block 350 doesn't maintain much traction in a light rain... Back end swung out, I overcorrected. Back end swung out the other way, I overcorrected. That's when I kinda just held on and jumped up the curb and hit a tree. Backed up, calmly put it in drive, and putted home. Linkage was bent from that incident, but my dad at least was able to laugh at me about it...

P.S. Your wheel looks dirtier than the inside of the drum on a steam powered train...

My wife doesn't invite me shopping. She knows better.

If you do get new tires, which I would suggest, get all 4.
