My favourite Ford is built in... Turkey.

It is appointed very well in Turkey and shipped to the US, where many of the luxuries are gutted and discarded. It is then sold in the US in a stripped-down manner in order to avoid the Chicken Tax, which was instated to protect the local industry in the US and has hurt... the local industry in the US.

Yet another reason I don't quite understand the US, but I like it anyway.

Every one of those cars has a nicer interior build quality than my bugeye, for Pete's sake.
Ray, you do have a point. I'm happy to say that Ford has made significant strides, and I would even consider one of their vehicles if I had to (and maybe GM too). When I make my vehicle choices I consider at all makes & models. I then narrow down my choices by needs (cost, number of seat belts, number of doors, etc). Heck, when I bought my 2011, I had considered the Cobalt SS (no 2011 model available), and Caliber SRT4. Obviously the best car won.

I don't mind being called a Fanboi when it comes to my Subie('cause I am ), but I would prefer being called a consumer.

I'm not brand specific.. as stated, I'll buy what fits my needs and then narrow down further by what fits my likes.

The way I want a car to feel is not how american cars are designed to feel. This is simple engineering. Nothing against where its made or what stamp is on the hood.. I just dont like how they work and feel.

I love German cars.. really ... love.. GERMAN cars.. BUT.. couldn't get an A3 wagon in awd and true manual trans. I dont like flappy paddles and two pedals.

That and old memories of how much I loved the 03 bugeye I got to cristen after rolling it off the truck with less than a mile on the odo brought me to subaru. I figured if the car was still available in a hatch and felt remotely like the older ones did I'd have a sure shot winner in my car purchase decision.

I'm here not because I think its cool, but because this car fit my needs and likes and budget. I do think the car is cool, but only because it fits the requirements. The community, well I luv you fools too but that had to grow on me lmao

I'm 6'-3" too and I don't have any issues with leg room in my 2012 WRX. I do find with the seat all the way back, it's a stretch to reach the shifter, even with my long arms. Nothing huge though, I'm getting used to it. And I second your comment about the head room. I mean, the seat it definitely low, which helps with head room but like you, I feel like there is a foot over my head. That was a big surprise. My previous car was a Toyota Solara and I couldn't get a sunroof because it reduced headroom so much. I'm sure I'd have no problem with a WRX with a sunroof, but I bought a base to keep the cost as low as possible.

Agreed on just about every front - even my last car was a Toyota, but it *did* have a sunroof and I wasn't expecting this much headroom in the WRX. And with the seat all the way back, it kinda feels like I'm on my tiptoes to make the clutch hit the floor.

I was sitting at a traffic light and a 50-something roadie bicycler pulled up next to me and said "Great toy!"

Last weekend I was driving around looking for fishing access to a creek near me, passed a bunch of boy scouts with the troop leader taking them to a nearby pond to fish. As I roll by them one of the kids yells out "Hey man, nice car!"

There's a very specific parasite in some humans that causes a person to think cats are cute.. adorable.. cuddly. This thread is about that parasite, mutated towards WRX's. The mutation occurs after a person gets the cat-cuddly parasite, then inhales toxic fumes from other cars as they are driving. Over time the parasite becomes agitated at the exhaust gasses and mutates to cause the person to like WRX's. These people then buy a WRX, and speed past all the other traffic, thus avoiding the fumes. The parasite can then continue to happily force you to like cats.
